Cignpost sought Absurd's expertise to design, build, and deliver end-to-end Covid-19 testing products and services that could scale and comply with the UK government guidelines.
This was a new service entering an emerging market that faced challenges such as being a distressed purchase that customers had no desire to pay for.
Absurd assembled a dedicated team of researchers, designers, and engineers to develop solutions that could be validated with customers and continuously optimised throughout the product life cycle.
The team also needed to ensure the platform's stability was compliant with tight SLAs driven by government legislation.
Absurd utilised Umbraco 9 as the CMS to rapidly scale new offerings across the globe to new regional markets and Cignpost's Mobile and Concierge offerings. To deliver change at pace without compromising quality, a multidisciplinary team was established with an operational model that enabled efficient collaboration. To ensure that the platform could be launched quickly and efficiently, the team utilised an agile development process and a continuous integration and deployment pipeline. This allowed them to rapidly develop and test new features and functionality whilst maintaining the stability and reliability of the platform.
ExpressTest by Cignpost quickly became the UK's largest Covid-19 testing provider, securing contracts with major testing locations such as Heathrow and Gatwick airports while building and scaling their retail network. Cignpost's infrastructure gained the trust of the UK government and the public, resulting in a Trustpilot rating of 4.8 stars and its continued endorsement to this day. Overall, the success of the project demonstrates the value of Absurd’s multidisciplinary team and operational model, which allowed us to deliver rapid change without compromising the quality of the technical solution or the user experience.
